Finn did not intend to purposely scare Steffy when he hugged Sheila Carter (Kimberlin Brown) on two occasions.

Wood’s character knows about the courthouse embrace because Liam Spencer’s (Scott Clifton) nose for news allowed Steffy to learn what happened.

But Sheila received her first return hug from Finn the day before the murder charge against her was dropped by Judge Evan Scott (Michael Corbett, who portrayed David Kimble on The Young and the Restless, Warren Carter on Search for Tomorrow, Michael Pavel, Junior on Ryan’s Hope, and Brent Cameron on One Life to Live).

Finn has yet to reveal that plot point that would surely rile Steffy even further.

However, Steffy is trying to come to terms with Finn’s forgiving nature and her ability to square Sheila’s reemergence as a threat in their lives.

While Steffy’s immediate reaction was understandable, time has allowed her to gain some perspective. She felt Finn was not capable of protecting her and the children from his birth mother because of the mixed feelings he had.

Now, after a series of talks with Finn and the side effect of Liam’s inappropriate offer to reunite if she would like to, Steffy sees strength in numbers.

Finn needs protection from Sheila as well. So, Steffy appears to believe that she and Finn will be better able to ward off Sheila and keep Kelly Spencer (Sophia Paras Mckinlay) and Hayes Forrester Finnegan (Alexander and Chase Banks) safe if they are all together at the cliff house.

Sheila is unbalanced. That is why she sees Steffy as stubborn rather than justified in standing against her.

Brown’s character recently told Deacon Sharpe (Sean Kanan) that she will not allow the bond between her and Finn to be broken. That means Sheila will make further attempts to force some type of continued connection.

Devoted fans recognize the conflict that is coming. The arguably worst mother-in-law in this version of Los Angeles, California intends to be part of Finn and Hayes’ life no matter what Steffy believes on B&B.
